Moon & Back started the same way most good things do — at home, with a lot of trial and error, and a refusal to settle for candles that smelled like everyone else's.

How it started
We wanted candles that smelled genuinely different.
Moon & Back was founded in 2020 in our home in New Jersey. What started as a personal obsession with fragrance quickly became a business built around one idea: that candles for the home should smell as sophisticated as the finest perfumes.
We use coconut wax — chosen for its clean burn, exceptional scent throw, and beautiful finish. Our wood wicks are sourced and manufactured in the USA. And our fragrances are sourced from fine fragrance perfumers, not just candle suppliers — which is why Moon & Back candles smell like nothing else at a craft market.
Every candle is still poured by hand in our home, in small batches, with the same attention to detail as the first one we ever made.
What we believe in.
Coconut wax burns cleaner than paraffin and holds fragrance better than soy. Our wicks are USA-made. Our fragrance oils are phthalate-free.
We source from fine fragrance perfumers, not commodity candle suppliers.
We'll never scale to a point where we stop knowing exactly what went into each candle.
